Having worked for the same company for awhile, I don't have the typical portfolio you'd see from other web designers as most of what I've created is either locked behind a firewall or an NDA. So I've put together a few case studies to show you my skills and experience.
If you'd like to see something specific, contact me and I'll happily put it together.
Brian SmithHe takes great pride in his work as a Webmaster and Web Designer and it shows both on the surface design and in the code foundation.

Web Site Strategy
Every website needs a goal. It's a simple yet often overlooked idea when planning a web presence.
When Ipswitch Network Management created their network tools suite, the WhatsUp Gold Engineer's Toolkit, they had one goal in mind: distribute it freely to as many people as possible. With this in mind, I created a high-converting landing page site with the SEO-heavy domain name getnetworktools.com. The call to action is clear, concise and identifiable.
Strategic Redesign
I joined the Ipswitch Network Management team in May 2009 and soon learned visitors in the highly desirable United States market were leaving the whatsupgold.com website much earlier than we cared for. Time per visit was under 2 minutes and the bounce rate was climbing. Action was needed.
In the fall of 2009, I brought the web design firm AtreNet on board and through our partnership we quickly launched a redesigned home page in December and a full-scale website redesign in March 2010.
To date, the bounce rate is normalized and time per visit is consistently above 3 minutes
A Case for Facebook
As Facebook was an untapped market in the network management industry, focus on growing the WhatsUp Gold fan page was a no-brainer. Through two short months of advertising and a strategy to increase interactions, we grew fan page membership from under 100 to over 850 fans, who actively share and comment on wall posts.
Rapid Wordpress Redesign
Often we don't get the luxury of coding from a blank slate. Instead, sometimes we need to adjust an existing code base. As CSS code formatting standards are still a fantasy (sigh...), experience helps in making a speedy transition between code bases.
Webmeister.Me is my blog where I occasionally post about web design/dev stuff. I've been hosting it on Squarespace but the platform isn't as flexible as Wordpress. While moving the data only requires some XML schema tweaking, customizing a theme can take considerable time.
In under a week, using the Carrington theme as a base, I've converted the original layout to one that suits my site better.
